Yr Hen Fecws, Dwyran
Roedden nhw’n arfer pobi bara eithriadol o dda ym mhentref Dwyran ond er eu bod bellach yn ei bobi mewn man arall mae’r Hen Fecws, sydd union yng nghanol y gymuned, wedi cael gwynt newydd yn ei hwyliau ers iddi gael ei phrynu gan Eglwys Llangeinwen a’i datblygu’n neuadd eglwys a chanolfan gymunedol i’r pentref a thu hwnt. Gan fod yr eglwys ei hun yn un pen y pentref, heb fawr o le i barcio yno, y nod fu ‘dod â’r eglwys at y bobl’.
Rhan allweddol o hynny yw’r Eglwys Caffi, dull anffurfiol o addoli lle daw’r efengyl yn fyw drwy ddrama a thrafodaeth, ynghyd â brechdanau cig moch, te a choffi! Cynhelir y Caffi Eglwys ar yr ail fore Sul am 10.30.
Yr Hen Fecws (The Old Bakery), Dwyran
They used to make extremely good bread in Dwyran and although it is now made elsewhere, Yr Hen Fecws (The Old Bakery), which is right in the centre of the community, has had a new lease of life since it was purchased by Llangeinwen Church and developed as a church hall and community centre for the village and beyond. With the church being sited at one end of the village, with limited car parking, the vision has been to ‘take the church to the people’.
A key part of that has been Café Church, an informal approach to worship where the gospel is brought to life through drama and discussion, accompanied by bacon baps, tea and coffee! Café Church takes place every second Sunday at 10.30am.
